Description
Profile: David is 51 years old. He is married to Tapiwa, and they have been blessed with a son and 3 daughters. He also cares for his brother’s 4 orphaned children. He completed senior school and was a loans officer. His hobbies are fishing, singing and playing soccer.
David was converted in 1982, and in 1993 went into full time ministry with the AFM church in Shamva where he leads a thriving church with over 300 members, as well as 150 children. He uses the Foundations for Farming method to teach his congregation to be self-sufficient. They also run a poultry project and buy and sell regalia to augment their income.
Testimony: “There has been a turn around in my life because of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many souls have been saved, and teachings have changed people’s lives”.
Overview: Zimbabwe, has a population of approximately 11m. There are serious food shortages, huge shrinkage of the economy and a complete collapse of the local currency. There is 90% unemployment & health & education are in a parlous state. Water & power shortages are an ongoing problem. There has been a huge loss of life and hardship caused by the AIDS & cholera pandemics, with over 2 million orphaned. (In 2019) The country has once again gone back to using its own currency, after 10 years of trading in US$ and SA Rand and inflation is beginning to spiral out of control.
In spite of (or because of?) this, many churches are flourishing- & people are turning to God
